On August 22nd, the Minister of Health, Mark Holland, announced that he is restricting the sale of ZONNIC to pharmacies only, across Canada. In addition to this, he is banning all flavours for ZONNIC except mint and menthol.

Unfortunately, he is targeting ZONNIC products in favour of all the other nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) products such as sprays, gums and patches, despite the fact that ZONNIC is the only nicotine pouch licensed for sale by Health Canada.

The Government is unfairly targeting responsible retailers like yourself by removing ZONNIC, an effective NRT , from store shelves for no reason other than as a result of pressure received from special interest groups. They do not understand that it is essential thatNRTs be available in the very locations where cigarettes are sold.

Join retailers across the country to ask the Minister of Small Business, Rechie Valdez, for her support. Remind her that responsible retailers, such as yourself, are serious about age-verification as you are about all your legal responsibilities. Ask her to intervene to prevent any retail sales ban of ZONNIC from happening, on behalf of Canadian small-business owners.
